Nigerians generally are economically and in so many ways, stressed now.
My mum told me yesterday of a family friend who slumbed and died on her way from the farm
” they said her bp was high…….” she muttered
” was it not same woman whose only daughter died, end of last year? “
” yes na “
” is it not same woman, who is currently the financial backbone of the family? “
” yes…”
” is it not same woman, who still does domestic chores, cater for the kids, cooks and still runs around church activities? “
” yes na “
” if hbp killed her, what did mental, emotional and physical stress, do then? “
The western orientation on blood pressure, is half-baked, am sorry.
We may have to start reorientating the world.
The entire world is drugging the body, attributing consequences of our own lifestyles to hbp. I wonder if it’s a crime for blood pressure to rise when conditions warrant it.
If you have any emotional or mental troubles here; depression, anxiety, fear, sadness, worry, etc, I recommend the greatest of all psychotherapists, ‘God’. He created you and knows how you feel, understands the burden on you. He would help you bear it. He helped me and is still helping me ( Bible study, praise and worship, quality prayer time and desperately cultivating the habit of seeing every earthly thing, as trivial ).
If you need an earthly guardian, please, seek a good psychotherapist to help with your social relationships, emotions, thoughts, etc, not drugs.
You could even die, if you dont imbibe good emotional management, reduce stress. Your blood pressure must rise in such state, because, your body was designed to work that way. Whatever sickness follows your lifestyle of sustained depression, anger, sorrow, anxiety, fear, stress, shock, has nothing to do with hbp.
God bless Africa!
