It’s a trend now, so many across the world, are on suppressants/antidepressants claiming to be treating anxiety, depression, etc.
And I asked Mr Bamidele yesterday ” you are treating anxiety, depression? “
” yes ma “
” why not treat happiness, joy, sadness, worry, anger, etc too? “
And he started laughing

” no na, if you are treating anxiety and depression, it means, you can also treat happiness and co. Are depression and anxiety, sicknesses. I thought these were emotions ? “

Africans, many of you or loved ones, are roaming the streets or almost losing it, upstairs today, because of this foolishness.
Anxiety is an emotion!
Depression is an emotion!
These are states of the human mind, not sicknesses!
Yes! When you allow these wrong emotions linger for too long or very intensely, they must affect your health;
1. Your arteries become contracted/narrow, causing blood to flow through them with more pressure. The hospital would tell you you got hbp. If you are not quick to snap out of depression still, the lack of proper blood flow to your heart, causes you to get stroked, paralysed, cardiac arrest, heart failure, etc.
Your lack of emotional management caused this, not hbp. It’s normal for your bp to rise when depressed. Bp has no fault here, the body is only doing its job. You are the one behind your predicament. The day you determine to let go of that thing depressing you; lack and want, marital crisis, worries about frivolities of life and gain peace, you heal.
2. You lose your sanity ( madness )
As the days go by and you won’t stop being anxious or depressed about those things, your brain which has been under tension, would start losing it.

Note;
1. The worst thing you can do to yourself as a depressed person, is to go on drugs.
What are the drugs for. Can they stop you from being depressed?
Those drugs are trying to suppress the heart palpitations, etc, that should naturally accompany depression, while the depression remains. You won’t stop being depressed but want your heart to stop beating fast. You are only tampering with your cognition. These drugs are suppressants and only force the brain to act outside its original configuration. Overtime, be ready to enter the streets ( madness ). It starts with foggy memory, memory loss, hallucination, etc.
These suppressants are on their own, sources of cognitive disorders. You can’t use same stuff, claiming to want to treat……

2. These are emotions and only you can help yourself. Its a state of your mind and you only need to imbibe habits and healthy lifestyles, to help reintroduce happiness and less worry into your life. Not drugs!
You treating depression and anxiety, is same as a drunkard, smoker, drug addict, who depends on these hard substances to help him forget his sorrow, frustration. But, when reality dawns on him, he realises, he is worse off.
3. If there be any professional who is qualified to see you through such phase of your life, it should be a psychologist.
4. If there be substances that could help you while you work on your emotions, they would be natural stimulants not drugs;
A. Hot peppermint teas
B. Hot ginger tea
C. Hot wonderful Kola teas
D. Wheat grass juice, etc
5. Long and undisturbed Sleep, is one habit to be imbibed, if you must overcome these wrong emotions. The natural peace that comes with a good sleep, gradually helps you overcome these. If you can’t sleep because you are depressed, this is where, the stimulants aforementioned, would help.

7. Most important of all, invite the holy spirit of God, to give you that peace you need, to overcome the troubles of life. If you believe, it would happen.

Are there cases of people that get depressed or anxious without their control.
No marital crisis, no relationship issues, no financial hardship, nothing troubling them, but, they just find themselves switching on and off. They can’t even help it?
Oh yes! This is where, ‘ lifestyle ‘ comes in.
1. If you are an alcoholic, you must experience this, overtime!
2. A smoker, you must!
3. A western medication patroniser, you must!
All western medications are suppressants. They have no business with the sources of ailments, they only always suppress their symptoms. That’s altering the brain’s functions, not healing e.g pain relievers, antidepressants, contraceptives, sleeping pills, etc.
4. So many foods now, got synthetic stimulants, either as additives, preservatives, flavourings, etc. If you consume such foods, wahala starts, overtime.
5. Lack of sleep too, puts pressure on your mental and emotional coordination.
6. Dehydration ( insufficient water intake )
7. Use of contraceptives distort your hormones, causing changes in behaviour. Just now you are happy, in the next 5mins, you are depressed. Why? You can’t explain
